GRANDPARENTS VISITATION RIGHTS - AGAIN

I HAVE SHOWN THIS PICTURE BEFORE BUT IT IS SO CUTE I HAD TO SHOW IT AGAIN.  THIS IS MY GRANDSON, OWEN BRIGHT.  MY DAUGHTER JENNIFER MORGAN'S SON.  THIS IS MY HOUSE ON THE DECK BY THE POOL.  NATALIE BRIGHT ACCUSED ME OF "PUTTING HER SON IN DANGER".  LOOKS TO ME LIKE HE WAS PERFECTLY DIRTY, HAPPY AND FULL OF MISCHIEF.  HE  GOT A BIG KICK OUT OF THROWING THE SAND.

JUST SOME TIDBITS ABOUT DIFFERENT THINGS

My ex-husband of over 35 years testified against me in court.  Pretty interesting considering I was only married to him for 7 years.  When I got pregnant with my son, John, before we got married, he ignored it.  Thought it would go away.  I was told by my family (Catholics) I had one of two choices.  Get married to John McDermott or put the baby up for adoption.  We got married.  After two years I got pregnant with Jennifer.  John McDermott's response "have an abortion".  Yeah, I couldn't believe it either.

With Jennifer I almost had a miscarriage in the fourth month.  I had to bed rest until I felt her move in my belly.  She finally moved only to almost die when she was born.  I went into labor early and was bleeding heavily.  The doctors put me totally out when she was born because the placenta was coming first and they didn't know if she would make it.  John McDermott was somewhere playing video games during all of this.

 Jennifer McDermott was a perfect baby.  The only thing that was wrong was as I mentioned in an earlier blog, she was severely pigeon toed.

A while after she was born John McDermott started seeing a waitress that worked at the old John Francis Restaurant in Johnson County, Kansas.  This woman's "husband" was in the service stationed in Thailand.  John McDermott carried on with her for over a year.  I was surprised at my reaction really.  I tracked the woman down and told her she could have the worthless man.  Funny thing, she didn't want him.  She was going to Thailand to be with her husband.

After John McDermott came back home, I filed for divorce.  I didn't want him either.  From that time on for almost fifteen years I had to fight to get child support for the two kids.  I took a typing course and got a job at an insurance agency as a receptionist making almost no money.  The Court awarded some alimony for the first year, a pittance really and child support.  What a joke, I had to garnish John McDermott's wages several times, go back to Court several times, and basically fight to get John McDermott to help support his kids.  The ones he didn't want. One of the times we went to court, the Judge awarded my attorney's fees to be paid my John McDermott because he was being vindictive, John and his wife Dani McDermott filed for bankruptcy to get out of paying the fees.  Pretty clever for someone with no guts.  But then again, they didn't go through with it.  They just filed the papers.

Natalie Bright's case hinged on several accusations.  One of which was "I didn't approve of their (Jennifer Morgan and Natalie Bright's) lesbian lifestyle".  That, among other things, is what John and Dani McDermott testified to in Court.  I believe John McDermott's statement was "she (meaning me) was raised the same as me".  Which was in his opinion not to tolerate gays and lesbians. 

First, I was not raised anything like either of the McDermott's.  When I graduated Bishop Hogan High School in Kansas City, Missouri, I enrolled in Aladdin Beauty College to become a Hair Stylist.  I was there for about a year and a-half.  I took the State Boards in Jefferson City, Missouri, and passed.  I received my license to practice my trade.

During my time at Aladdin Beauty College, I was amongst actively gay men, lesbians, transgender men and women.  Some of the gay men dressed in drag on a daily basis.  Some of the lesbian girls and women dressed totally feminine and some like men.  Being at Aladdin Beauty College was one of the most fun and interesting times in my life.  My instructors were both gay and lesbian as were some of my customers.  We attended classes some of the day and the rest of the day we were "hair dressers" with paying customers.  Some of us had regulars that we loved to see come in to the shop.  But most of all, we were all friends and watched out for each other.  We did each others hair and nails and listened to each others heartbreaks, fights with boyfriends or girlfriends.  I was totally comfortable in my environment.

I did not have a problem with Jennifer and Natalie Bright being in a lesbian relationship nor did I have a problem with their "life style".  My problem was the way Natalie Bright and her family, Gail Fagen (mother), and Dan Bright (brother), was treating my daughter before she even had my grandson. 

My problem also was the way the City of Olathe Kansas Police Department seemed to think that siding with Natalie and Sarah Tackett (Natalie Bright's live in lover) was the way to go.  As I mentioned earlier in another blog, Natalie Bright had Detective Bill Wall, Human Resources Administrator, Anita Dickey, and Captain Greg O'Halloran all ready to say my daughter Jennifer Morgan was not acting normal when she changed her beneficiaries on her insurance policies.

Oh yes, Dani McDermott testified that when Jennifer Morgan brought Owen Bright over to my house every day, that I "started drinking at noon.  But the fact that Dave (my husband was upstairs working) made it okay to leave him here".  REALLY, WHAT A IGNORANT STATEMENT.  Need I say more about the McDermott's?

Oh, and by the way, Judge Ryan ate it up like candy.  AGAIN, REALLY.

John and Dani McDermott were not a part of Jennifer Morgan's life nor did they know anything about my life.  Natalie Bright forced them on Jennifer because she smelled money.  Jennifer said that Dani's son, Keith Utley, molested her when she and her brother visited them at their home after our divorce. Jennifer never told me about it until years later.   


TIDBIT AND RANT

By the way,  Natalie Bright kicked Sarah Tackett to the curb it would seem.  She quit or was dismissed from her job as a "Police Officer, City of Olathe, Kansas".  She ran all the way back home to Kentucky.  Works in a stationery store.  How appropriate.  Wonder if detective Bill Wall went with her.  He was so concerned that "she was happy".

I wonder who Natalie Bright's next catch is.  Hope she reads my blog before she gets taken for everything she's got.

TRUTH

As a grandparent we want our grandchildren to be safe and happy.  A friend of mine I have known for over 28 years became a grandmother last August.  That baby got the rest of the stuff I had kept from when I kept my grandson, Owen Bright.  We keep in touch with each other sporadically.  Her grandson is 8 months old.  I told her to be sure to take pictures and keep detailed notes of the days and nights she spends with him because of what happened to us could happen to her.  The fact that someone could keep him from her was something she could not fathom.

She called the other day and told me that she was a mess because her grandson tried to go down the basement steps and fell a minimum way down.  She said she only took her eyes off him for a minute.  She was totally beside herself with guilt.  He did not get hurt in the slightest but that's how grandparent's feel about their grandchildren.  We are a protective bunch of nerves when it comes to their safety.

One day when I had Owen here he decided to get up off the floor and run down the hall to his room.  I was right behind him and before I could catch him he ran straight into the wall.  I wasn't a foot behind him.  I think it scared him more than hurt him and he held on to me tight and cried for about 5 minutes and then started laughing when I punched the wall and said "bad wall".  How did I feel after that?  Totally guilty.  I told Jennifer Morgan about it when she came to pick him up.  Her reply was "he's done worse at our house".  "Don't worry about it".  I think about it now and to this day could replay it hundreds of times just as it happened then.

As grandparents, we hope to do better with our grandchildren than we did with our children.

RANTS

THE FOLLOWING IS ON THE LIGHTER SIDE AND DOES NOT DEAL WITH GRANDPARENTS VISITATION RIGHTS-JUST A FEW MUSINGS

***I was at Walmart one day and I was standing in an aisle looking at something and a man who had been in the Pharmacy walked into an aisle where there was a trashcan.  He opened the lid and SPIT into the can.  REALLY!!!!!

***I have a CROCKPOT and usually put the lid in the dishwasher and unload it the next morning.  My husband happened to unload it that morning and took out the lid and set it on the cabinet.  The dishes were cool to the touch so we can't figure out how the following happened.  For no apparent reason the glass lid started to crack.  The glass was totally intact but ended up looking like a stained glass window that had been struck by lightening.  GO FIGURE!!!!

***For those of you who have a HyVee grocery store in your area, you have probably heard their jingle:  WHERE THERE IS A HELPFUL SMILE IN EVERY AISLE - I have shopped there many times and haven't seen one yet.  REALLY!!!

***We have a restaurant here that is known for their beef especially their "PRIME RIB".  It's the Hereford House.  We went there on our anniversary around 5:00 pm.  Both our mouths ready for that first tasty bight.  The waiter appears and we both order Prime Rib.  After he brought our drinks and we sat there for a while.  He appears again to tell us "there is NO PRIME RIB" today.  What else do you want?  REALLY!!!!

***I was at the grocery store the other day.  It was our local Hen House Grocery Store in Lenexa, Kansas.  I was getting salad from the salad bar where you can make your own salad.  The woman in front of me was piling on the lettuce in her container and started picking out pieces she didn't want.  Guess where she put the pieces?  Yep, your right.  Right back into the lettuce bowl in  the salad bar.  REALLY!!!!

***We have some local TV shows Kansas City, MO where the hosts are supposedly local newscasters or weather people or just locals who think we should know them.  What I don't understand is why each of them carry a "tablet or notebook computer" during the whole show and they never once look at it.  Does it vibrate with breaking news?  Because it must have some use other than a prop.  GO FIGURE!!!!

***I didn't know when I started the process to apply for early retirement and Social Security at age 62 that it was taxed and I sure didn't know that when I turn 65 that money would be taken out of that Social Security payment for Medicare.  How many time does the government want me to pay for what I put into that account starting at age 15 when I started working at Smack's Drive In in Kansas City, MO.  GO FIGURE!!!!

***Invariably when I get into my car either at the grocery store or the mall parking lot either a car darts in back of me while I am trying to pull out or people walk directly behind the car when they can see me backing up.  IS IT JUST ME?

***One thing I have never seen is a U.S. POSTAL TRUCK, UNITED PARCEL SERVICE TRUCK, FEDERAL EXPRESS TRUCK OR A CONCRETE TRUCK, who are traditional speeders get stopped by the Police and ticketed.  THEY MUST HAVE A DEAL WORKED OUT!!!!

***We purchased new carpet some time back from McIntyre Mann Carpet Store on 87th Street Parkway in Lenexa, Kansas.  The price included take up the old carpet (which we had already done so we could clean the floor), delivery of the new carpet and pad, installation, furniture moving, clean-up and repositioning the furniture.  Think again.  We barely got the carpet and pad installed.  These people left the house in such a mess I sat down and cried.  Then, I called the owner and he sent out one guy to put the furniture back.  We still cleaned up the mess which took days.  STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!!

***We hired painters, A STROKE OF COLOR, Owner Christopher Knight, Overland Park, Kansas to paint inside and outside the house and to fix the wood rot.  This was over a year ago.  I have called, sent certified letters and reported this company to the Better Business Bureau.  This company guarantees their work for 52 months.  DON'T BOTHER WITH THEM EITHER.  YOU WON'T EVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN!!!

***This is swimsuit season and many women pull out the "Nair" for their legs, arms or whatever.  I did the same.  I set it on the bathroom counter along with my "dentures" that I've had since 2001.  I use antibacterial soap with a pump the clean them and store them at night.  The "Nair" bottle has a pump too.  Now I know you've probably guessed what I'm going to say next.  Yep!!! DO NOT LEAVE THE NAIR NEXT TO THE SOAP!!! AND DON'T CLEAN YOUR TEETH IN THE SEMI-DARK.  Nair has a very distinctive smell.  Luckily, I'd only cleaned the lowers when it hit me.  WHAT A PIECE OF WORK!!!
